Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Chelsea

CHELSEA, Mass.—State police say a man walking along Route 16 in Chelsea has been struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver.
Authorities say the 39-year-old Chelsea man was walking north along the highway at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he tried to cross the road. He crossed on lane but was struck as he crossed the other lane.
He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
His name was not immediately released pending notification of family.
Police are looking for the vehicle that struck the victim.
